Gandhi Jayanthi-2010.

       Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated in due respect and importance by the Cadets.We started the celebration on the second of October. That day was set apart for the social service. The Cadets together with the Community Police cleaned the Thaluk hospital Thodupuzha. The Service day was inaugurated by Smt. R Nishanthini IPS,ASP Thodupuzha. On that occasion she instigated the students about the relevance of Gandhian principles and social work. Sri N N Prasad, CI,Sri George Joseph,Headmaster, Sri Shinto P Kurian, SI, Sri Shaji PP, ASI, Sri John P M, ASI(G), Sri Suku T K, Beat officer, CPOs and a good number of the hospital staff participated in it.On the 4th of October, the Cadets exhibited the Gandhian Messages in and around the school campus in the form of placards and on chart papers. On the same day at 2 pm there was a photo exhibition of Gandhiji. The photos included the various aspects and occasions in Gandhiji’s life.
       On the 5th of October, Gandhi smriti was commemorated. In this connection
there was procession with famous Gandhian Sri Thomas Kuzhinjali, in the dress of Mahatma Gandhi, and with Charka and placards in front of the procession. The procession moved through the town and it shed light in to the minds of the common public about the relevance of Gandhian ideas in the present situation. Sri George Joseph, HM, CPOs, & Sri T K Suku, Beat officer gave lead the procession. There was a quiz competition for the students. Each student who came forward with correctanswers were awarded with prizes.On the 6th of October, The film “Gandhi”by Richard Attenborough, was shown to the cadets. It could shed light about the life of Gandhi and his commitment to free India from the foreign and oppressive rulers.       On 8th of October, a seminar on ‘Communal Harmony’ was conducted for the Cadets. Sri Binoy Antony,an expert in Gandhian Studies, took class on the same topic.  He explained the various aspects that can be fostered in children so that they might be the messengers of social co-existence. He reassured the students that the best solution to all the communal problems is the acceptance of the Gandhian principles. On the same day a quiz competition was conducted by Smt Fancy Augustine for the Cadets.Ashik P K stood first, Ajmal P K stood second and Mahin Sakeer, Shameer P S,Vishnu K C and Aneesh PN stood third to sixth position respectively in the quizcompetition.
